Justin Auciello

Justin is a New Jersey licensed professional planner.

As a lifelong surfer and coastal conservation advocate, Justin’s passion is the preservation of the fragile marine ecosystem through innovative planning and common sense approaches as well as community engagement. He has worked both personally and professionally toward that goal at the Jersey Shore and in western Puerto Rico, where he has a home and volunteers with various coastal conservation groups, including Fundacion Surfrider Rincón. (He is currently seeking to collaborate with planners in Puerto Rico.)

Justin has extensive experience in master planning, redevelopment, zoning analysis, urban design, affordable housing, farmland preservation, impact analysis, and expert testimony delivery. He has provided analysis and public testimony on projects ranging from simple homeowner variance requests to complicated, high profile plans.

In addition, Justin is a new media consultant, political campaign strategist, freelancer writer. He assists individuals and small businesses with copy production, message delivery, and social media platforms. Justin is currently the APA-NJ Vice President of Public Relations, allowing him to apply his skills in service to his profession. His writing has been featured in newspapers, trade publications, and blogs, and he has been quoted as a planning expert in newspapers. He has also taught Expository Writing at Rutgers College and tutored members of the Rutgers University football team. Justin is conversational in Spanish.

Justin has a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.
