Justin Auciello

Urban Planner. Writer.

I write about current land use planning issues and emerging technologies that are changing how we use our urban spaces at The New Wave Planner.

I am a contributing editor at Live For Jersey Shore, a summertime lifestyle blog that focuses on arts, entertainment, and food in coastal Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

I also maintain a personal micro-blog, dubbed The Scratchpad, where I curate intriguing content and share a wide variety of self-produced multimedia content.

I am actively seeking work opportunities. Should you be interested in hiring me, please contact.

As a professional planner, I have extensive experience in helping people navigate the complex land use approval maze, as well as master planning, impact and site analysis, development review, and complex report preparation.
My primary academic interest involves land use, coastal conservation, and economic development concerns in western Puerto Rico, where the landscape is changing rapidly and the “sprawl influence” is beginning to take hold.
I am fascinated by innovation in the urban planning process, primarily the intersection of New Media, urban planning, and emerging technology. By leveraging New Media and various emerging technologies, much can be accomplished in the quest to improve communities.
I possess a comprehensive understanding of community outreach tactics, message production and delivery, New Media (social networking, blogging, content management systems, search engine optimization, and multimedia journalism), and have the ability to leverage extensive contacts in both the mainstream media and blogosphere in short order. As a daily user of the internet since 1993, I am well versed in what works, what doesn’t, and where we’re heading.
